The Woolmen is a New South Wales business established in 1993,specialising in supplying and installing insulation, ventilation systems and skylights for residential and commercial clients.
Managing Director Merv Hourigan is well experienced in this industry having been a warehouse manager for a major building supply chain (now Bunnings) at Forster for 5 years, before moving to Sydney to become involved in the Skylight Industry - domestic, commercial and industrial there. This was followed by a move back to the Northern Rivers area in 1994 where he partnered in a Skylight business for 4 years before purchasing The Woolmen in 1998.
The Woolmen is based at Alstonville, a town in northern New South Wales, part of the region known as the Northern Rivers. Alstonville is on the Bruxner Highway between the town of Ballina and city of Lismore, and only 25 minutes from Byron Bay. Some of the places to see when visiting the The Woolmen is the Amaz N Place - Home of the Living Lattice Labyrinth - the largest maze in the world grown in this fashion as a result of the inosculation of over 9,000 and the Summerland House Farm.
